Privacy Policy

Carpenter Family (family.markcarpenter1.com) is a private app for members of a family, operated by Mark Carpenter. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information we collect

• Account information: your name and email address, used to sign you in.
• Family information you or a parent enter: roles, birthdates for children, tasks and their details.
• An access log of changes made in the app (for example role changes and sharing settings).
• Google Calendar information, only if you connect a Google account: the calendars you choose to share and their events, read-only.
• If you opt in to text messages: your mobile phone number and your consent record.

How we use information

• To run the app for your family: show tasks, calendars, and members, and enforce who can see what.
• To send the messages you opted in to (sign-in codes by email; reminders by text if you opt in).
• We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Google user data

Carpenter Family's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Calendar data is read-only, shown only to the family members you choose, kept in short-lived caches, and never used for advertising or sold.

Text messages (SMS) and email consent

If you opt in to text messages, you agree to receive family reminders (tasks and calendar events) from Carpenter Family. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time; reply HELP for help. Email sign-in codes are sent only when you request them.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Who processes data for us

Service providers that run the app on our behalf: Clerk (sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and Google (only the calendar data you connect). They process data only to provide these services.

Children

Children's accounts are created and managed by a parent in the family. Parents decide what children can see and can remove a child's account and data at any time.

Your choices

• Opt out of text messages by replying STOP; opt out of anything else by contacting us.
• Disconnect a Google account at any time; we stop reading its calendars.
• Ask us to access, correct, or delete your information.
